The JOJOLands (ザ・ジョジョランズ, Za JoJoranzu) is the ninth part of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series, written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. It was officially announced on August 19, 2021 in the September 2021 issue of Ultra Jump and began serialization in the March 2023 issue, released on February 17, 2023. The French edition has been published by Delcourt/Tonkam since April 2024.
Jodio Joestar (ジョディオ・ジョースター, Jodio Jōsutā)
Stand Name: November Rain
Jodio Joestar is a 15-year-old boy living in Hawaii. He attends McKinley High School in Honolulu, though he only goes to school as a cover for his drug-dealing operation—a business he has been involved in since the age of 11. Jodio is quiet, cautious, and daring. He believes in the existence of mysterious “mechanisms”—invisible forces rooted in trust—which he thinks will ultimately lead him to great wealth, his ultimate goal. He is also suggested to have antisocial personality disorder.
Jodio is often seen with his sibling Dragona, whom he is extremely protective of.
His Stand, November Rain, has a robotic head and four long, thin legs. It can produce extremely heavy raindrops capable of immobilizing and damaging targets.
Jodio is the great-great-grandson of Johnny Joestar, one of the two main protagonists of Steel Ball Run, and a cousin of Yoshikage Kira, one of the two individuals who make up Jōsuke Higashikata, the main character of JoJolion.
Jodio’s name appears to be a fusion of classic Joestar names (Jonathan, George, Joseph, Jotaro, Giorno, Josuke, Jolyne, Johnny) and their eternal rival, Dio Brando. Because of his personality, style, criminal activity, and his ties to both the Joestar bloodline and Dio, he may be considered a post-reboot version of Giorno Giovanna.
